Installation

Once an earthing or lightning protection system is installed, its quality isn’t visible. What you’re left with is a test report, a set of as-built drawings, and depending on who carried out the work either confidence or uncertainty about what’s actually in the ground and in the fabric of the building. TERRATECH is one of the few specialist contractors in the region whose installation teams are as technically grounded as its engineers.

Installed correctly. Documented completely. Ready for handover.

We install earthing and cross bonding systems, lightning protection systems, and small power and lighting works in data centres and critical mission facilities. Working across Germany, Belgium, the Netherlands, and Luxembourg, our teams handle new-build programmes and the more demanding challenge of works within operational facilities where sequencing, access coordination, and minimal disruption to live systems are part of the job, not afterthoughts.

Where Terratech has also designed the system, our installation teams understand the intent behind every technical detail. Where we are appointed as specialist installer against a third-party design, we apply the same rigour reviewing documentation before mobilisation and identifying discrepancies before they translate into site delays or additional costs.

Our site management processes reflect the requirements of Tier 1 principal contractors. We hold current accreditations relevant to health, safety, and environmental management, and our teams are trained in working at height, on live sites, within energised plant rooms, and in restricted-access data hall environments. We carry out regular technical toolbox talks on the specific systems we install, not just general site safety.

Programme performance is important to us. We know that on a critical facilities project, a specialist subcontractor who generates RFIs, who lets test documentation slip, or who has to revisit completed works is a problem that has a way of surfacing at the worst possible moment. We structure our delivery to avoid being that problem.

Scope of Installation Works

Lightning Protection Systems
Full installation of external LPS in accordance with DIN EN 62305, including air termination networks (mesh, rod array, and catenary configurations), down conductors, and earth electrode arrays. Works carried out in coordination with structural, roofing, and facade programmes as required.

Earthing Systems
Installation of earthing infrastructure for LV and HV systems earth bars, ring earths, equipotential bonding conductors, structural steel earthing connections, and raised-floor bonding networks. Includes substation earthing connections, generator neutral earthing, and UPS system earthing.

Cross Bonding
Cross bonding installations across electrical, mechanical, and structural interfaces, including main bonding bars, cable tray bonding, server rack bonding, and service entry point connections in line with EN 50522 and project-specific design requirements.

Surge Protective Devices
Installation of SPDs across LV distribution boards in accordance with the coordinated protection design, including verification of protection levels post-installation.

Small Power & Lighting
Small power and lighting installation in plant rooms, ancillary spaces, technical corridors, and support areas within data centre and critical facility buildings.

Testing, Verification & Handover Documentation
Continuity, resistance, and fall-of-potential testing on completion of installation works, with full measurement records. As-built drawing production and handover documentation compiled to client requirements and O&M format.

Why Clients Choose Terratech for Installation

The same main contractors and clients appoint us repeatedly. That pattern reflects something specific: on a critical facilities programme, the ability to work accurately within a compressed construction programme without generating unnecessary queries, without variations caused by design misreads, and without having to revisit completed works at the end of the programme is worth considerably more than a marginally lower tender price.

Our installation quality holds up under scrutiny. Our test results are documented clearly and completely. Our handover packages are organised and usable. And when something unexpected arises on site as it does on most complex projects we deal with it straightforwardly rather than treating it as an opportunity for a commercial discussion.
